A witness in Preity Zinta’s case against ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia claims that the actress showed him bruises on her arm, a day after the incident happened in the Wankhede Stadium.
Preity filed a complaint against Wadia on June 13 at the Marine Drive police station. Her complaint stated that the business man abused and threatened her inside the stadium during the match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings on May 30.
According to Indian Express, Preity’s neighbour, Danish Merchant, met her on May 31 and that’s when she showed him the bruise on her elbow. She also asked him if this is how one treats a girl.
Merchant is one among the four key witnesses of the incident that happened on May 30.
In his statement he said that he was also seated in the Garware Pavilion when the incident happened. He saw Jean, an American national, asking Wadia to back off when he grabbed Preity’s arm.
He further added that the businessman returned 40 minutes after the match began and screamed and abused Preity as he could not find a seat for his mother.
The police will now record statements of the other witnesses by the end of this week and then will call for Wadia.
