Preity Zinta is cute and bubbly. She is probably gonna hate me for calling her 'bubbly' ;-) But she is what she is, cute, bubbly, charming and a brave soul. There are many layers to her character, but the whole thing is engulfed in a bubbly package.
Before I write more, may I request those of you who do not agree with my point of view do so in a civilized manner and don't take it out on Preity? Preity please ? :-)
I adored Preity Zinta the moment I saw her in a Cadbury Perk commercial and subsequently in the movie 'Shangharsh' . It was such a long time ago, feels like another life time! I don't remember much about the quality of her performance, but I remember I was enchanted by this unconventional looking pretty thing.
Over the years, she has delivered some really good performances, performances filled with life, zest and charm. Kya Kehna, Dil Se, Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Veer Zaara and Salaam Namaste are some of her movies I enjoyed watching. 'Salaam Namaste' is still one of my go to movies when I need to see something good, a movie filled with great music, a sparkling Preity Zinta and Saif delivering one of his best performances (though his character was kind of an a$$). Yep, I have a list of 'go to' movies I go back to again and again and again. They are like chicken soup for my tired soul, and 'Salaam Namste' is one of those movies.
Along with some unforgettable performances, Preity has done some good humanitarian work over the years, putting her fame and celebrity status to good use. Her stance on women's rights, AIDS awareness and prevention as well as taking a stand against the mafia when big guys from Bollywood chickened out earns her my respect. She also happens to be incredibly well dressed. One of the original couture wearing fashionistas of B'Town, she has done good and looked great while doing it.
She is turning 38 in a month and half, and she is single, in India. She deserves a medal for that alone! I mean seriously, people can be so obnoxious about it there, a single gal in her thirties! People are even obnoxious about it in western countries, otherwise they wouldn't have 'Sex and the City' and 'Bridget Jones' Diary'.
So here is to you Preity. Here is to you for being a great actor, a successful movie star, a good human being, an entrepreneur, and for being fabulous and taking a stand for single women in India and everywhere.
I do look forward to your first home production, even though you have postponed it for the umpteenth time. I don't want to sound preachy, but do hang in there. You have the love and support of people who admire you and there are a great many of us who do.
XOXO
Recently there have been some posts and many comments on Pinkvilla about the alleged plastic surgery and use of botox by some well known Bollywood celebrities. Below are the actors and actresses who are alleged the most to have gone under the knife and/or used botox.
The question is, are these natural physical changes that we all go through as we age or are they the results of plastic surgery/botox use?
If they are the results of plastic surgery/botox use, then did all of them need to go under the knife/use botox (considering the before and after looks) and can we blame these celebrities for trying to look youthful and have better physical features in an industry that highly favours such traits?
Aamir Khan, allegation: botox use
Salman Khan, allegation: hair transplant, botox use
Saif Ali Khan, allegation: nose job, botox use
Katrina Kaif, allegation: nose job, lip enhancement surgery, botox/collagen use
Kareena Kapoor, allegation: cheek implants
Priyanka Chopra, allegation: nose job
Preity Zinta, allegation: nose job, veneers, botox use
Shilpa Shetty, allegation: nose job
Madhuri Dixit, allegation: botox use
Sridevi, allegation: nose job, botox use

We saw how Preity Zinta's 'Ishqk in Paris' never saw the light of the day as its release was postponed time and again. However, it is all for a good cause. As per TOI, Preity's director Prem Raj who developed a serious illness somehow completed the work on the film before his big surgery. However, Preity is adamant to release her film only when the director is healed and back in India. Well, so much for cut-throat competition. Preity surely shows the way for some heart-warming work ethics.
Seen here is Preity Zinta rocking the stage at the Tempation concert. Hasn't it been a while since we saw Preity on stage?

Must say it is a very nicely done remix.

After a number of obstacles, it finally sounds like the Parisian love story is finally going to hit the theatres sometime in May.
Director, Prem Raj was diagnosed with a serious illness due to which, the post production work of the film had to be paused. He had gone away to London to get treatment and now that he's back in Mumbai city after completing his treatment, he's shocked to read some of the stories that have come out surrounding the film. He stated that Preity had been in touch with him throughout the difficult time and is currently working on a release date.
Hmmm 'May' may just not be a good month for the movie's B.O collections considering YJHD is going to hit the theatres at the end of the month. Nonetheless, goodluck to Preity's team.
