Everything that could have possibly gone wrong with Preity Zinta’s performance at the Grand Finale of the atrocious dance-reality show 'Nach Baliye', which finally and blessedly ended on Sunday night, did go wrong.
And yet, if Preity still emerged strong on stage it was because of her own willpower and the poor dancing skills of her co-judge Chetan Bhagat.
But on Sunday morning, hours before the show, Preity was still struggling with a string of horrendous hiccups.
Says a source from the set, “Preity’s performance was being sabotaged from the outset. Firstly, someone from the core team of 'Nach Baliye' spread the rumour in a section of the press that she was not performing at the finale of the show. There was absolutely no truth to the rumour. And Preity was livid, because she knew who was spreading these rumours. It is someone working closely with her on the sets of 'Nach Baliye' who is close to the producers of the show.”
Apparently on Sunday morning, hours before the ‘grand’ finale was to be telecast and when Preity’s performance was being recorded, all hell broke loose on the sets when her props for the performance failed to work.
Says the source from the sets, “When Preity was all rehearsed and ready to perform her props conked off. She was supposed to enter the stage from above the audience. But the prop failed. The entry had to be scrapped. Preity took all the hitches in her stride and performed to the best of her abilities.”
But the question now being asked is, who was responsible for trying to sabotage her act?
